Level 3 Certificate/Diploma For Dog Grooming Stylists (7763-03)

 This qualification is your first step towards a career in professional dog grooming and styling, whether you have some experience in a dog grooming salon or the Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants. The qualification is suitable for school leavers or adults looking for a change in career, and is open to anybody aged 16 or above. The Level 3 Certificate/Diploma for Dog Grooming Stylists (7763-03) course is divided into 2 parts:

Part 1: Level 3 Certificate in Introductory Dog Grooming

Part 2: Level 3 Diploma in Professional Dog Grooming

Course structure

Level 3 Certificate in Introductory Dog Grooming is a pre-requisite for the Level 3 Diploma in Professional Dog Grooming, and therefore students are required to achieve their ‘Introductory Certificate’ prior to commencing with the ‘Diploma’. 

The Introductory Certificate is delivered as training in one of PIF’s accredited training schools. You will be assessed on your knowledge, practical dog grooming skills, written portfolio work and two 1-hour multiple choice tests.

Once you have signed up with one of our schools they will provide us with your details so that we can register with City & Guilds and send your C&G Candidate Registration Number to you. Students are given 3 years to complete the whole qualification, so part 1 & 2, and must be at least 16 years of age at the time of registration. 


Part 1: Level 3 Certificate in Introductory Dog Grooming

Learners must successfully achieve 20 credits by completing all the units below:

Units listed above are completed at the training school and evidence is presented in a portfolio – except units 026 & 027 which are online multiple choice tests taken under examination conditions.


Part 2: Level 3 Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists

If you wish to continue to complete the full 7763-03 qualification, you will need to achieve the Level 3 Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists which is awarded after successful completion of the following modules:
