Main Classes

Aside from the Newcomer of the Year competition, all other competitors will be split into the following three groups:

  • Experienced – groomers with 18+ months experience, but not having been placed first in any class at a national grooming competition.
  • Advanced – breed specialists, placed first in ANY class at a national grooming competition, but not won BIS.
  • Champions - Former Groomers of the Year, or previous winners of BIS in other grooming competitions i.e. Mastergroom, Premier Groom, Eurogroom or a European Grooming Association competition

There will also be a Creative Competition in the afternoon, although this will not count towards 'Groomer of the Year'.

Competitors choose to compete with either one or two dogs in the following classes.
NB: To challenge for Groomer of the Year, a competitor MUST have competed with two dogs.

1. Clipped Terriers or Schnauzers (Judge: Julie Lalou)
2. Handstrip other than gundog
3. Gundogs (Judge: Peter Ensell)
4. Champions Morning Class
5. Creative Class (Classic & Asian Fusion)

6. Miniature or Toy Poodle (Judge: Julie Lalou)
7. Standard Poodle
8. Purebred Scissor (Judge: Kelly Davis)
9. Workshop (Judges: Louisa Tandy and Peter Ensell)
10. Champions Afternoon Class

Class winners go on to be judged for the overall winner of their Group.

The three Group winners are then judged by Eve Somers, the Groomer of the Year judge to determine the 2017 Groomer of the Year.

Prices include VAT. Registration for competitors is now open and will close on SUNDAY 22 OCTOBER.
