BDGC 2017

The 2017 British Dog Grooming Championship will take place on Sunday 29 October at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, near Leamington Spa, sponsored by Pet Dandy - a 'smart' tag producer which helps re-unite lost pets with their owners.

Join us for the UK's largest one-day dog grooming event, with dozens of trade stands and seminars, as well as the excitement of the competition itself, which will see the 2017 Groomer of the Year crowned.

This year's judges currently confirmed are available to view.

There will be a Newcomer competition, for those new to the grooming industry, as well as a Creative competition, on top of the other main classes.

BDGA members will be able to attend the show as a competitor or a visitor at a reduced rate, and will be able to access the exclusive BDGA members' area, with seating right by the main ring.

Check back on this page for all the details as they become finalised.

We look forward to welcoming you to the event!

A bit about our fantastic main sponsor:

Fresh from their US success, Pet Dandy’s ‘smart’ pet tags are taking the market by storm by combining affordable & fashionable designs with simple, mass-market technology. Tracker devices (such as Bluetooth or GPS) are all quite ugly and/or bulky, as well as expensive and full of limitations such as battery life or range. Pet Dandy’s patented technology is based on a pre-engraved, unique ID number on the back of each tag which, upon being entered on PetDandy.com loss retrieval system, launches an anonymous chat between the finder and the owner of the lost pet. As a matter of fact, the system is so efficient and safe to use that it was awarded a Metropolitan Police certification !

There seems to be a gap in the market for trendy ‘connected’ tags. The offering out there still mostly consists of bones, hearts or plain round-shaped tags which require to be engraved with a machine. While there will always be a market for those, there is also a growing trend from the younger generations to buy cooler and smarter things to keep their pets safe. Pet Dandy is also disrupting the way pet tags are sold in-store by focusing on never-seen-before packaging and displays which firmly stand out from the competition. Last but not least, Pet Dandy tags do not require an engraving machine, making them accessible to every pet shop owner, no matter their size.

Pet Dandy tags are the perfect impulse buy at retail, as well as ideally suited to be sold by groomers & walkers. As a corporate gift item, insurance companies and charities can also use them to enhance the customer journey and boost retention.
